Abstract
We review recent investigations of ultrafast dynamics of electronic excitations in quantum confined semiconductor heterostructures. We concentrate on two topics: the femtosecond time resolved investigations of the nonlinear optical response of semiconductor quantum wells in strong perpendicular magnetic field, and the investigations of many-body effects in the temporal lineshape of coherent emission from semiconductor quantum wells.
