Abstract

High-enthalpy and high-entropy Ca0.2Co0.2Ni0.2Cu0.2Zn0.2O oxides was synthesized via reactive flash sintering (RFS) at room temperature with electric field of 60 V/cm and current density of 300 mA/mm2. The estimated average temperature of the sample at the steady stage was 1060 °C during RFS, which was much lower than the previous prediction. It speculated that the applied electric field may cause a non-equilibrium thermodynamic state and the fast phase transition was occurred at lower temperature with applied electric field.
