Abstract

Normalized heat transfer and temperature power spectra of turbulent Rayleigh–Benard convection in cryogenic helium gas are studied over an unprecedented range of Rayleigh number (Ra) from 10 6 up to 2×10 15, the highest Ra ever achieved in a controlled laboratory experiment.
