Abstract

In this study, vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS) treated SrTiO3 particles were composited with polybutadiene (PB) using doctor blade and hot-pressing approaches (xSrTiO3@VTMS/PB, x = 84–90 wt%) to satisfy the application in microwave band. The effects of SrTiO3 doping on the microstructure and dielectric properties were investigated detailly. Thermal and mechanical properties of the composite were also discussed in this paper. When x = 87.5 wt%, SrTiO3@VTMS/PB reached the best dielectric properties of highest dielectric constant (εr ∼ 21.1) with low dielectric loss (tanδ ∼ 4.1 × 10−3) at 10 GHz. A great thermal conductivity of 1.363 W/(m·K) at room temperature and high bending strength of 55.2 MPa could be achieved at 86 wt% filler loading. This study can provide a promising composite for microwave applications.
