Abstract

In this paper we study the contact problem for a thin-walled hyperelastic tube and a rigid cone inserted into the tube. Oppositely directed forces of equal magnitude are applied to one end of the tube and the cone. Up to a certain value of the force, the cone and the tube are in equilibrium due to friction forces. The paper analyses the influence of geometrical parameters of the cone, friction coefficient and direction of force application on the limit value of forces, after which the cone will start to move in the tube.
