Abstract

(Abstracted from Obstet Gynecol 2018;131:431–439) Uterine leiomyomas are common among women of reproductive age in the United States, occurring in up to 70% of white women and more than 80% of black women. Approximately 25% to 50% of women with leiomyomas have abnormal bleeding and other clinical symptoms that interfere with daily activities and negatively affect their quality of life.
