Abstract
To the Editor:— Dr. Rostenberg has described a classical case of ulcus vulvae acutum (Lipschutz). No previous case of this disorder occurring in this country has been published as such. It is thought in Vienna that most, if not all, cases reported originally by Welander as aphthous ulcers, and such have been reported in this country, are ulcus vulvae acutum (Lipschutz). We should all be seeing this from time to time, as it is caused by a normally present vaginal saprophyte. Two instances of it have been called to my attention within the last few months. I believe that once this condition is pigeon-holed in the minds of gynecologists and dermatologists, it will be seen to be a not uncommon condition.
