Abstract

SummaryFour cases, in all of which ulcerative jejunitis is associated with evidence of malabsorption, are described. None of the usual known causes of jejunitis were found, and the ætiology of this group of cases is unknown. The histological picture of the mucosa adjacent to the ulceration resembled that seen in adult cœliac disease, and two patients were given this diagnosis and treated for this disease. Three of the four patients died, the complications including hæmorrhage, perforation and obstruction.
