Abstract

The processeso finstitutionalization of researcho fthe subjects of the Ukrainian liberation movement of the period of 1940-1950 in the context of the state policy of commemorationare analyzed. The activity of independents cientific public institutions and the ircontribution to the study of the struggle of th esubjects the Ukrainian independent cemovementare revealed. During 1994-2004, at the state level, there was no clear desire at the legal level to resolve the issue of assessing the struggle of the OUN and UPA. Under these conditions, the role of a kind of institutional centers for the study of the Ukrainian liberation movement was taken over by public research centers, which were created both in Kyiv and in the regions. In 1992, the Center for the Study of the National Liberation Struggle was established in Lviv, which focused its activities on collecting documents on the liberation struggle of the 40-50s of the XX century. In 2007, the Center for the Study of Ukrainian-Polish Relations was established. At the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the Center for the History of State-Building was established by the scientist V. Vyatrovych. Ivano-Frankivsk` scientists of the Precarpathian University established the Research Center for the Study of the Ukrainian Liberation Movement. In general, scientific, public institutions with state, patronage and grant financial assistance contributed to the study of the Ukrainian liberation movement and its promotion.
