Abstract

The UK Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) has published a new report outlining wide-ranging failings in imaging reporting and follow-up within the UK's National Health Service (NHS). The report was based on 25 complaints relating to the imaging pathway in the NHS, dating back to 2013. The PHSO, Rob Behrens, pointed out that the failings spanned primary and secondary care services, and were not restricted to imaging departments. He has written to the UK Government to emphasise the importance of ensuring that improvements to imaging services are prioritised in the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
