Abstract

Indonesian rice production in 2014 amounted to 70.8 million tons, a decline in production of0.5 million tonnes compared with production in 2013. The deficit will increase in foodavailability in the presence of wetland conversion becomes not the fields, degradation of soilfertility, productivity growth stagnated due to increased genetic capacity that has been stagnant. Wetland is a major producer of rice. The expansion of rice areas only allow the land to be developed suboptimal potential of about 91.9 million hectares. One alternative solution that can be applied is the application of technology packages use of new varieties of rice through innovative assembly lines or new rice variety which has high yield potential, resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The purpose of research is to produce paddy rice strains resistant acid soil stress and adaptive if it is grown as an upland rice which is generally a suboptimal land. Twelve new rice lines Polinela assemblies planted on two different environments, namely in wetland conditions at pH 6.0 and pH 4.5 upland. Thestudy design in each neighborhood using randomized complete block design (RCBD) is repeated three times. The observed variables include the maximum plant height, maximum shoot number, the number of productive shoots, weight of 1000 grains and grain yield per clump. The study resulted in eight new rice lines that are adaptive to the environment acidic soil, namely, B1 , B3 , B7 , F2 , F4 , H1 , L2 , and L3Keywords: rice strain, stress acid soil
