S. ; Cannon, R. O., III ; Rhombs, C. G. Abstract Differential UBV photometry of the long period Algol-type eclipsing binary RS Cephei obtained on 61 nights from November 1965 through February 1972 at Kitt Peak National Observatory and Dyer Observatory is presented. For the comparison star BD+80 deg 159, V = 8.62 m, B = 8.96 m, and U = 8.96 m. Primary eclipse depths measured from external contact are 1.55 m in V, 2.35 m in B, and 2.90 in U. Eclipse durations are D = 0.09 P = 27 h and d = 0.04 P = 12 h. A circumstellar disk surrounding the hotter star causes the light to be depressed before and after the external contacts of primary eclipse and causes totality in the U light curve to appear partial.
