Abstract

Smart phones are ubiquitous to suit for many real time applications in data acquisition and image display. When the unmanned aircraft system (UAS) is operating to meet most requirements for civilian missions, flight surveillance is important to operators on the ground. This paper presents a simple way to build UAS surveillance into a smart phone to remotely visualize flight situation. A cloud system is established on telecommunication web to allow UAS mission partners to down flight watch information. A 3D terrain is constructed on Google Earth to present better terrain awareness for the operators. It offers a good virtual reality for remote visualization to assist UAS flight maneuvering.
