We were treated kindly and hospitably wherever we travelled and made many life-long friends. We personally do not recall an unpleasant experience or incident. We met courtesy and concern, from Sydney to Hong Kong, from Karachi to Brussels. Thus we were amazed to learn, from conversations with European and Asiatic friends and acquaintances that America is not liked abroad, and is horribly misunderstood. There would seem to be several reasons for this climate.
