Abstract

This article studies the relations between Mongolia and the United States of America, one of its key partners in accordance with the current “third neighbor” foreign policy concept, in the modern era. The author sought to determine what goals do the United States pursue while developing cooperation with Mongolia, for what reason have the ties with the United States become so important for the Mongolians in the post-bipolar period, and what are the main spheres in which the relations between the two countries are developing. A study of US-Mongolian relations after 1990 reveals how the US policy in the Mongolian direction has changed over the years and what are the prospects for interaction between the United States and Mongolia.
