Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of this paper was to develop typologies of hotel green supply chain management (HGSCM) strategy. The typologies were developed through tracing the practices of nine best-performing hotels from various regions over the period 2017–2019. The data were retrieved from the global reporting initiatives database. The cases were classified according to their shared actions categories along the supply chain. Next, the cases were reclassified according to the number of their shared green performance dimensions. Then the typologies matrix of the relevant HGSCM strategy was developed. This matrix has two dimensions: the extension of the supply chain and the number of green indicators. From the intersection between the matrix dimensions twelve typologies were generated, but the number of typologies adopted by the best-performing hotels was five. This is the first study to have developed typologies of the HGSCM strategy.
