Abstract

AbstractThe lectotypification of four Linnaean names in the genus Juncus: J. articulatus, J. inflexus, J. pilosus (≡ Luzula pilosa) and J. stygius is discussed. The designation of the nomenclatural types is based on the consultation of Linnaeus's original material and the literature cited in the respective protologues. The names are lectotypified using specimens from LINN and L (Adriaan van Royen Herbarium), and a Morison illustration for the name J. inflexus. Furthermore, an epitype is designated for J. inflexus due to ambiguity in the interpretation of the lectotype.
