Abstract
Geological heritage is the basis of the construction and development of geoparks. Its characteristics directly determine the grade and scale of geoparks. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to establish a set of scientific and applicable geological heritage evaluation factors for the classification determination and development and protection direction of geoparks. At present, a lot of researches on the evaluation factors of geological relics in our country often only emphasize one attribute of geological relics, which is relatively one-sided. This paper comprehensively analyzes the previous research results, classifies the geological relics of Xinglong Geopark on the premise of geological heritage protection, describes the formation conditions and formation process of geological relics, and analyzes the distribution, characteristics, and scientific value of geological relics; the evaluation factors of geological relics are put forward. The improvement of evaluation factors of geological relics is a process of continuous development and perfection. Therefore, the effective evaluation factors of geological relics should be established on the basis of regular tracking and feedback of basic research data of geological heritage evaluation factors. Through the evaluation factors of geological heritage resources to determine the status of geological relics in a geopark in all geological heritage resources or similar geological heritage resources, so as to determine the importance of geological heritage resources and the development and protection value, which is of great significance for the effective development and protection of geological heritage resources under the current shortage of funds.
