Abstract

This paper presents a direct adaptive type-2 fuzzy neural network controller to control nonlinear affine systems using feedback linearization theory and type-2 fuzzy neural networks. In this method, feedback linearization control input is approximated using a type-2 fuzzy neural network. The designed controller is applied to control the liquid level of the Twin-tank system and the results are compared to that of Adaptive-Network-Based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). Simulation results show the ability of the proposed method to control nonlinear affine systems, especially in the presence of noisy data.
