Abstract
Studies on the difference in creating phosphokinase (CPK) activity of platelet-rich-plasma and platelet suspension before and after freezing and thawing demonstrated the presence of CPK activity in rat and rabbit platelets but not in the platelets of dogs, monkeys and humans. The CPK activity of rat and rabbit platelets was 61 ± 18 mU/10 8 platelets and 88 ± 23 mU/10 8 platelets respectively. The Type I (brain type) isoenzyme of CPK was found in rat platelets.
