Abstract

Moderator Dr. Eugene L. Derlacki: Five months ago four of the panelists participated in a similar panel in the academy program. The new panelist, Dr. Marquet, has had an extensive experience in this relatively new and exciting development in reconstructive otologic surgery. We will now proceed with the question: Should each man develop his own source of supply or will quality control be better served through ear banks established within a large hospital, medical school center, a private foundation, or combinations thereof which will serve the needs of many patients and their operating surgeons? Dr. Rodney Perkins: There is always the problem of dealing with the pathologist in your local hospital, and all of the other legal aspects to it.
