Abstract

In the contemporary Canadian theatre landscape, scholars and artists tend to base their perceptions of Theatre for Young Audiences activities upon naïve generalizations and outmoded experiences; as a result, TYA scholarship and artistic practice is often ignored or marginalized. This article uses a whimsical and satirical tone to refute commonly-held misconceptions about TYA scripts, productions, and companies.
