The two-pion exchange contribution to the Λ ppotential is constructed from the field-theoretical scattering amplitude. The potential is constructed both for a single-channel description of the ΛN interaction and for a coupled-channel treatment of the ΛN and ΣN interactions. The resulting TPE ΛN matrix element is real and weakly energy dependent up to threshold for π-production in the coupled-channel framework. We take into account the Adler consistency condition for the input πΛ and πN amplitudes, as well as the s-wave ππ interaction. The rescattering effects in the intermediate state are approximated by the low-mass πB resonances in the sharp resonance approximation.
