Abstract
Approximate formulae for two-photon counting statistics for the superposition of coherent and chaotic fields are proposed and the exact second factorial moment is calculated. The accuracy of the proposed formulae is demonstrated by comparing the exact and approximate third factorial moments for the chaotic lorentzian field.
