Abstract

Abstract An approximate method is set up in which the overlap integral of the nuclear wave functions involved in the two-particle transfer reaction emerges as the solution of an inhomogeneous differential equation. Structure effects due to the residual interaction ensure the correct asymptotic dependence in the form factor. The method is illustrated by a sample calculation of the form factor for the 42 Ca(p, t) reaction.
