Abstract

In the framework of the Walecka model we show that a nucleon-meson form factor can improve the behavior of two-loop corrections for nuclear matter significantly. The effects of the vacuum fluctuations are strongly suppressed with respect to a calculation without form factors. The main contributions to the energy density are now given by nucleons in the Fermi sea.
