Abstract

Anisotropy in pyrite was shown by R. Saager and P. Mihalik to be due to trace-metal content (for reference, see this Bibliography Vol. 32, No. 4, 11 E68-04487), but can have other causes. 9The same crystal of pyrite in different orientations can be polished so that it appears either isotropic or anisotropic.9
