Abstract

This paper presents two types of frequency-domain acoustic-velocity formulations for the rotating thickness and loading sources. The acoustic-velocity components of the noise radiated from the rotating monopole and dipole point sources are computed with the two types of frequency-domain formulations and the time-domain acoustic-velocity formulation V1A of Ghorbaniasl et al. (“Acoustic Velocity Formulation for Sources in Arbitrary Motion,” AIAA Journal, Vol. 51, No. 3, 2013, pp. 632–642), respectively. The computational results have a good agreement between each other. Moreover, the Isom noise consistency test for a rotor is also carried out to validate the proposed frequency-domain acoustic-velocity formulations.
