Abstract

It's my first month as a pediatric emergency medicine fellow in a busy New York City pediatric emergency department (ED) I feel I'm always running around, navigating the New York subway system, somehow making it to work on time. Every time I hop on, the 4 train is always delayed. Every shift, I walk into the ED trying to figure out what is kept where, learning the names of all the nurses, in addition to carrying the burden of expectations, phew, and I do this with a smile on my face.
