Abstract

The article is devoted to two-stage multi-point multi-frequency method for pipeline leakage point determining. It is shown that the presence of two pairs of unidirectional microphones allows to localize the source of ultrasonic vibrations, which is the gas flow going from the through hole formed in the wall of the pipeline. In this case, the variability of the radiation patterns by the frequency of ultrasound leads to the formation of many points defined as localized sources of ultrasound. It is indicated that the «gravity center» of the set of localized points can be calculated by solving the optimization problem under certain additional restrictive conditions.
