Abstract

In this study, new soliton solutions of the perturbed Gerdjikov–Ivanov (GI) equation with spatio-temporal dispersion, have been constructed. The perturbed Gerdjikov–Ivanov equation, plays a significant role in describing the dynamics of soliton propagation through optical fibers. The exp(−Φ(ξ))-expansion method and the Kudryashov method have been utilized for finding new traveling wave solutions. The obtained traveling wave solutions contain free parameters. Upon selecting the special values of free parameters, the solitary wave solutions and the periodic wave solutions are also derived from the traveling wave solutions.
