Abstract
Tunable coherent radiation around 840, 830, and 795 nm has been generated upon two-photon excitation of sodium 4d and 5s levels, respectively. The generation is due to special parametric processes. A molecular nature of the emissions, as recently proposed, can be ruled out by the performed investigations.
