Abstract
Experimental data on exclusive two photon reactions are investigated with respect to formation of tensor and scalar mesons. Theoretical and experimental status and progress is reviewed. Furthermore, new CELLO results on γγ → π − π − and γγ → ϱ 0 ϱ 0 are presented. Clear evidence for a large scalar contribution is found in both reactions. The implications of these new results are discussed.
