Abstract

We find that the two-photon process in proton-proton scattering is a significant or dominant contribution to certain channels at sufficiently high energy. In particular, for colliding 1 TeV protons on 1 TeV protons the production of e +e - pairs via two photons is larger than the production from the Drell-Yan process for pair masses up to ≈60 GeV.
