Abstract

In this study, non-Newtonian nanofluid flow and heat transfer in a permeable enclosure with two cylinders embedded in the cavity with and without thermal radiation effect is investigated. Two phae mixture model was used. Four thermal cases are considered in this study. Simulations for different Rayleigh numbers and Darcy numbers in the ranges of 104 ≤ Ra ≤ 106 and 10-4 ≤ Da ≤ 10-2 are done. In addition, the volume fraction, the radiation parameter and the emission coefficient ranges are 0 ≤ φ ≤ 0.015, 150 ≤ Rd ≤ 190 and 0.7 ≤ e ≤ 0.9 respectively. Also, the cavity changes at different angles (0° ≤ γ ≤ 90°) relative to the horizon. The results indicate that the increase in the cavity angle can lead to an increase or decrease in heat transfer. In addition, considering the effects of thermal radiation, heat transfer is expected to be lower than that which does not exist. Moreover, the best heat transfer rate is obtained according to the temperature conditions. Due to the cavity angle, the heat transfer can increase or decrease by increasing the size of the cylinders.
