Abstract

In recent years, two ‘paradoxes’ have emerged in the ‘seller's market’ of Chinese higher education. One is a strong demand for buying educational services and a weak demand for consumption; a second is the coexistence of an entry to the seller's market and an exit point from the buyer's market. These two ‘paradoxes’ arise to a great degree from factors of restraint and limitation in the higher education system and from the negative effects of personal choice. To raise the administrative and managerial efficiency of human resources, a sound system should be established. Certain regulations should be re-formulated or consolidated. Meanwhile, people's market behavior in higher education should be standardized, and the current malpractices in the system of personnel choice should be abolished.
