Abstract
• Two new triterpene saponins were purified from Centella asiatica. • Their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic data. • Compound 2 with an exocyclic double bond was firstly isolated from this plant. Two undescribed ursane-type triterpene saponins, named asiaticoside H ( 1 ) and I ( 2 ), were isolated from the whole plants of Centella asiatica . The chemical structures of 1 and 2 were mainly characterized by extensive analysis of their 1D and 2D NMR and HRESIMS spectroscopic data and chemical derivation.
