Abstract

Two Chinese species, Gymnomyces lactifer sp. nov. and Martellia ramisphw sp. nov., are described and illustrated. The two genera are new to China. The importance of such characters as presence of a latex, clustered sphaerocysts in hymenophoral trama and spore ornamentation, in the taxonomy of the hypogeous gasteroid Russulales is reviewed. The generic concepts of Gymnomyces, Marlellia and Zelleromyces are discussed. A key to the genera is provided.
