Abstract

Abstract Two new Chinese species of potamid freshwater crabs, Huananpotamon shangyouensesp. nov. and Minpotamon auritumsp. nov., are described from Fujian and Jiangxi, eastern China, respectively. The two new species can be distinguished from their closest congeners by carapace features and structures of the male first gonopods. Phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial 16S rDNA sequences support the establishment of the two new species.
