Abstract

strate. Their black heads were protruding from the holes in a manner similar to that of Emblemaria pandionis; however, at Glovers Reef E. pandionis inhabits only holes in coral rubble on the sand bottom of the lagoon and is not found in living coral. After the application of Noxfish the E. pricei remained in their holes and had to be pulled out. If both E. bottomei and E. bahamensis occupy similar habitats, this would explain why so few specimens have been collected.
