Abstract

Drosophila starmeri. n. sp., and D. uniseta, n. sp., from Venezuela are described. They are closely related to D. martensis Wasserman & Wilson, tbe only other mulleri complex species of the repleta group known to be endemic to South America. Genetic tests indicate that the 3 species are reproductively isolated from one another. The salivary gland chromosomes are described and used for determination of the relationships among the 3 species.
