Abstract

New replacement names are proposed in Trathala Cameron, 1899 (Ichneumonidae: Cremastinae) and Enicospilus Stephens, 1835 (Ichneumonidae: Ophioninae) from the Neotropical Region.

Highlights

  • NOMENCLATURE the name “flavus” was preoccupied by Enicospilus flavus (Fabricius, 1775) (TOWNES & TOWNES 1966)

  • The new name proposed by Townes for Ophion flavus Brullé, 1846 is invalid

  • The new specific name refers to the fact that the species had no valid name after it was discovered that the original and further replacement species names were no longer valid
