Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of Illicium micranthum led to the isolation of two new prenylated C6–C3 compounds, 12-O-methyl-2,3-dehydroillifunone C (1) and illiciminone A (2), together with three known analogues (3-5) and one known sesquiterpene lactone (6). The structures were established by extensive spectroscopic characterization and the reported data. All the isolates were evaluated for their acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition activity. Compound 5 showed weak inhibitory activity (46.0%) at 50 μM concentration.
