Abstract
Baird's Sandpiper, previously known by only one specimen from Honshu (Tori, no. 69, 1957) and one from Kuriles (Tori, no. 27, 1929), was observed and photographed two times in 1963, one at Gamoo, near Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, and one at Katagai, Chiba Prefecture, both in late September.
