Abstract

Amylofungus and Dextrinocystidium are proposed as new genera of corticioid basidiomycetes. These genera share the characters of clampless hyphae, gloeocystidia and amyloid basidiospores. Amylofungus is characterized by the presence of amyloid hyphae, gloeocystidia and basidia, as well as by utriform basidia and smooth basidiospores. Dextrinocystidium is characterized by having dextrinoid and cyanophilic lamprocystidia, utriform basidia, verrucose basidiospores, and by skeletal hyphae. Amylofungus corrosus and D. sacratum, respectively type species of these two genera, are proposed as new combinations. A key is provided to the genera of resupinate basidiomycetes with gloeocystidia and amyloid basidiospores.
