Abstract

Abstract Two new cembranoids, locrassolides A (1) and B (2), along with three known metabolites 3–5 were isolated from the soft coral Lobophytum crassum. None of these compounds were found to be cytotoxic toward a limited panel of cancer cell lines (CCRF-CEM and DLD-1). Metabolite 3 was shown to significantly inhibit the accumulation of the pro-inflammatory iNOS and COX-2 proteins in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells.
