Abstract
Measurements are reported for the temperature and polarization dependences of two-magnon Raman light scattering in the rutile-structure antiferromagnet CoF 2 over the temperature range from 4 to 40 K . An effective spin model is employed to obtain a good description of the line shapes and peak frequencies for temperatures up to 0.4 T N. The results are also deduced for the relative values of the two-magnon magneto-optical coupling coefficients.
