Abstract

This paper proposes two non-isolated high voltage gain dc-dc converters with ripple free input current. The circuits use three winding coupled inductor which allows to acheive high voltage conversion with an appropriate turns ratio. Active-clamp circuit is introduced to alleviate the adverse effects of leakage inductor, thereby reducing the voltage stress of main switch and resulting zero voltage turn-ON of both the active switches. Circuit configuration, the operation principles and the design considerations of the converters are presented in detail. A 300 W/400 V hardware prototype of one of the presented converters is fabricated and results obtained are shown to validate its workability.
