Abstract

In this paper, design of a two element loop-loaded printed dipole array having miniaturized dual-band characteristics is presented. At the lower operating frequency of 1.64 GHz, the proposed array exhibits tilted dual-beam radiation (peak gain 4.11 dBi)about the azimuth plane, due to the tightly coupled loop mode. At the higher operating frequency of 2.52 GHz, the proposed array exhibits bi-directional broadside radiation pattern (peak gain 3.89 dBi)due to the interaction between printed dipoles. A prototype for the proposed antenna is fabricated to validate the design methodology.
