Abstract

Hamstring injuries remain the most common injury in Australian Football and a high priority for injury prevention. Eccentric conditioning has been suggested as a potential preventive measure for hamstring injuries. Two RCTs were undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of pre-season eccentric hamstring conditioning programs for preventing hamstring injuries at the community-level of Australian Football. 220 and 268 community-level players participated over the 2004 and 2005 seasons, respectively.
